Biography
Eleonora Strano is a franco-italian photographer based in France.
Her work has been shown in France and abroad and received awards.
For more than 10 years she has been working on themes linked to isolation and/or invisibility. Whether it is geographical, cultural, environmental, social, political or visual. Her images are imprinted by nostalgia, memory and time.
Her work has been presented in June 2011 at le BAL in Paris, in a collective show "Se dérober" in Musée de la Photographie de Mougins and at Photo Vogue Festival in Milan in 2019 and 2020.
In 2019, her work has been exhibited at Espace de l’Art Concret in Mouans-Sartoux, as part of «Des marches, démarches» curated by FRAC PACA and has been part of Jeune Création in Romainville. This year it has been show at Circulation(s) in Paris.
She has been nominated as one of the 31 women photographers to watch for in 2019 according to the British Journal of Photography, one of the 250 photographers of 2020 by the PHMuseum and has been listed as one of the 150 European emerging photographers of 2021 by GUP Magazine.
Eleonora Strano is a member of Eyes on Talents, Hans Lucas, Women Photograph, Blink and works in the south of France.
In parallel to her work with the medias as a photojournalist, she develops artistic projects among which is a photographic commission launched by Université Nice Côte d’Azur, Villa Arson, and Académie 5 about biocontrol. She is currently working on her next project about shipwrecks, memory and anthropecene in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon.
Eleonora Strano est une photographe franco-italienne qui vit et travaille en France.
Lauréate du Prix EMI-CFD et diplômée de l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d’Arles, son travail a été exposé en France et à l’étranger et a reçu de nombreux prix. Il a été présenté au BAL, au Musée de la Photographie de Mougins, et plusieurs fois, au Photo Vogue Festival à Milan.
En 2019, son travail a été présélectionné pour le Salon Polyptyque et a été présenté à l’occasion de l’évènement «Des marches, démarches» porté par le Frac PACA, l’Espace de l’Art Concret à Mouans-Sartoux, le Cairn à Digne-les-Bains et Le Laboratoire à Grenoble.
Citée par le British Journal of Photography comme l’une des 31 photographes à suivre en 2019, l’une des 250 photographes de l’année 2020 par le PHMuseum, l’une des 150 photographes européens émergents en 2021 par GUP Magazine, son travail a été présenté à Jeune Création en 2020 et à Circulation(s) en 2021.
Eleonora Strano est membre de Eyes On Talents, du Studio Hans Lucas et du réseau international de femmes photographes Women Photograph.
Parallèlement à ses collaborations avec la presse, elle se consacre au développement de projets plastiques et documentaires dans la Région Sud. Elle répond actuellement à une commande de l’Université Nice Côte d’Azur, de la Villa Arson, et de l’Académie 5 sur le biocontrôle et prépare son prochain projet mettant en jeu l’anthropocène, la mémoire et le naufrage à Saint-Pierre et Miquelon.
